STEELRISING - Pont-Neuf
I had the opportunity to recreate one of Paris's most iconic structures: the Pont-Neuf. In Steelrising, it is featured partially destroyed during the revolutionary events, dramatically bisected by a gaping breach.
This was an exceptionally engaging task; it was a blend of historical reproduction and necessary adaptation to meet the technical constraints of the game and the sheer scale of the asset. I also had to research the construction of such historical works, specifically the internal structure revealed by the damage. This process taught me an immense amount.
Recreating the gargoyles/maskarons was particularly enjoyable, as these assets were versatile enough to be used as decoration in other areas of the game, just like the general debris—assets that are always useful to have on hand.
